arepa arepa is not just the best place in nyc for arepas, it is also one of the most comforting spaces in the perplexing williamsburg nabe. the cuisine, and ambiance are exquisitely curated by the talented staff; they treat u like family.

Great food, but definitely a neighborhood joint when it comes to decor. Food is fresh and the service is friendly. The place is really small so there may be a wait and you will be right on top of the other diners. This is a regular stop for NY visits when in the Downtown area. |

Shachis Restaurant 197 Havemeyer St Brooklyn, NY 718-388-8884 |
Awesome little place in williamsburg. The food was trully authentic and delicious. The decor needs work, but its really cute and inviting, they just need some work on the lighting. The arepas and empanadas were really good the first visit, but the traditional venezuelan lunch "pabellon" was the best i've ever had. The food there feels like its been slow cooked for hours by a latin grandmother and whats best is their prices

It serves late and the food is good. Pizzas are better than the rest of the options. The person who seats you, tends bar, takes your order and is the primary server. If you are looking to have your water topped off on time think twice. Wonderful atmosphere with brick walls that have been marked on the bricks. Warm and inviting. Oh by the way. It all works as it is very small. Neighborhood charmer. We have been twice and will go back

Caracas Brooklyn 291 Grand St. Brooklyn, NY 11211 718-218-6050 |
This place is a hidden gem. Who cares about the decor when the food is so good. I shared several different arepas and had an appetizer and drink. The place is small and can get packed, so it's not a great place for large parties. Definitely worth trekking down into the LES for. The grilled chicken and chorizo, shredded pork and plaintain, and shredded beef arepas were delicious. |
